16 week semester
Friday 9AM - 3PM, Reyburn House Studio, Dent Street, Whangarei,
Cost: $670 (GST included). Payable prior to commencement of course.

This course will focus on extending students' art practice through painting and drawing at both technical and conceptual levels. Students will be encouraged to develop their personal style and extend their understanding of contemporary art practice. While there will be a focus on technical and individual vision students will also be encouraged to research the forces that influence and inform their own art practice. Planned and impromptu group lessons will be used to introduce theoretical and technical consideration of paint and paint making.

These classes are designed with the adult student in mind and a certain level of commitment is required. They are based on the understanding that personal development is self-driven with assistance, advice and challenge from the tutor.

"Laurence Berry - A Man who Inspires People

In January 2004 the Ashburton Socieyt of Arts ran a 5 day course for 16 artists of varying abilities. Laurence relaxed the group from minute one. Everyone was extended by this man, who seemed to be able to get inside each individual in a kind, encouraging and humorous way.

His passion and enthusiasm for his craft inspired each of us. One of the best tutors we have experienced."
